Whisky from a distillery that has been closed since 2011 when it was demolished as part of Diageo’s decision to focus on grain production elsewhere.
This makes our 22 year old experiment even more exciting as it showcases what could have been from one of Scotland’s lost distilleries.
Tasting Notes
- This dessert dram remains sweet, gaining from the cask a beautiful front palate of sweet lime creams (more the boiled sweet than the chocolate, but 2 things can be true).
- Some orange oils follow, with the refrain of sweet white sugars following throughout.
- Rich caramelised fruits also characterise the centre palate.
- The finish is medium length, characterised by that sweet lime and a slight subtle spice.
- The dram has got even more interesting, but equally delicious.
- Think key-lime pie.
